Realistic Lighting and Editor?

20 July 2017 - 09:46 AM

Bored of the old and generic lighting patterns for light bars and lights in general? Have the god given ability to create custom lighting patterns resembling those such as GTA IV and GTA V ELS mod, Garry's Mod's Photon Lighting System, etc.? Do those skills pay your APBills? Do you want your retro style lights, like the EVE Flash King or the ARS powerbright to look like this https://media.giphy....R0ZdS/giphy.gif ?
While your modern Lights like the Hot Response II or PowerBright II to have more of a strobe pattern like this http://i46.photobuck...ated/zjiglz.gif ? Want your headlights, high beams, hazard lights, reverse lights, brake lights, tail lights, etc. to strobe or have a flashing effect if you want?

Well, people like me are accustomed to designing awesome emergency lights, patterns, and cars. Some of us want to go all out, and while the design features primarily addressed towards vehicle creation and design are the most advanced that most players have ever seen or used, the lack of design abilities for the very lights we put on those beautiful vehicles is non-existent. With feautures like this allowing us to make beautiful displays of emergency lights or lights in general for non-emergency vehicles like utility vehicles, it would bring more diversity to the already diverse world of APB. Following the already user friendly design system used for music, symbols, outfits, vehicles, and themes, APB is known and acclaimed for; users could create extremely attractive, effective, and just plain beautiful lighting patterns featuring simulated strobe lights, LEDs, halogen, and rotator lights making vehicles using them more realistic, especially those designed to resemble real life departments like LAPD, NYPD, or CPD, even departments outside of the United States like London Police, or Tokyo Police, even vehicles like ambulances, or fire vehicles, road departments, etc. but this feature wouldn't just include the top lights and front lights we are accustomed to, but modifications to vehicle default lights such as the headlights and tail lights, allowing them to flash, in custom made, or preset patterns. This should also allow us to customize colors of each light on light bars allowing us to make light bars use colors for departments based off real life counterparts, like Japanese agencies and fire agencies use all red or red and white light bars, while some American and European agencies use all blue or blue and white light bars, and maintenance vehicles use white lights or yellow lights. This feature could also allow criminal characters to use lights to a certain extent, such as party lights for vehicles. With design abilities like this, some not so gifted players may want beautiful patterns but without the car, offering a new use for the marketplace, allowing us gifted players to put our well made patterns up for sale, letting players put their purchased patterns on their vehicles. And allowing players to save custom patterns like they would songs, themes, or symbols.

This feature could also include the ability to use the lights as traffic directors using key bindings.

Many players have used third party after effects to simulate what it would look like https://m.youtube.co...h?v=M76XUe6ZBpQ

This video simulates custom or atleast different patterns, but also includes features such as multiple sirens (wail, yelp, phaser), and a key bind set to switch between them or disable sirens in general so only lights are enabled as well as changing between different patterns in game, and the ability to disable certain lights such as the roof lights, or hideaway lights. But it also includes dynamic lighting, which most think to be a must have, while others think it could wait.

This should also allow us to import real life sirens, or make sirens like we would a song or theme to replace the default sirens.

Hopefully this feature is implemented to improve creativity and diversity between clans for enforcers.

Realistic Clothing Items

This idea is more aimed towards Enforcer clothing items but may also include clothing items with no specified faction, and items solely for criminals. With most clothing items being cosmetic, why not up the ante? What most enforcers, who are either members of law enforcement clans, are aiming to resemble a law enforcement officer, criminals wanting to look even more badass, or just want more out of their clothing, this suggestion is for you.

Enforcers:
1. More realistic duty belts... the duty belts in the game currently may better resemble belts worn by European agencies, rescue agencies, or most agencies outside of North America, San Paro is more based off the United States/Canada. This being said, law enforcement agencies in America and Canada will if not most likely will, have a stun gun and firearm on their duty belt (like a taser on the left side of the officer, and a pistol in a pistol holster attached to the belt on the right side). This would add more style to enforcers attempting to resemble actual officers.

2. Waist radios and upper torso radios... Modern day officers most commonly have a radio with a speaker connected attached to the upper left or right torso. If not, they just have a radio on their duty belt. This would obviously be cosmetic, but would add a sense of realism to the enforcer's outfit/uniform.

Both Factions:
1. Shoulder/Back Mounted Primary weapons... This feature would include back mounts for the current weapon in your primary slot. This would make a player's character look that much better and increase their intimidation factor. It could also show other players what weapon that player has equipped without having to inspect them.
